Caring for your eyesight begins with regular eye examinations – a full checkup for your eyes.
At Boston Eye Institute, a comprehensive eye exam includes testing for vision impairment, and also includes a series of tests designed for early detection of eye condition and diseases that may not present any symptoms in their early stages. Early detection is the best way to prevent conditions that may develop into more serious problems including loss of vision.
Doctor Dornfeld recommends the following frequency for eye examinations:
Children and teenagers: Every 3-5 years
Adults 20 - 40: Every 2-4 years
Adults 40 - 60: Every 1-3 years
Adults over 60: Every year
Glasses and contact wearers: Every year regardless of age
